Chennai Super Kings will play their remaining home matches of the Indian Premier League in Pune. The decision was taken by the BCCI and the IPL governing council after the local police said they would not be able to guarantee the security of the players amidst protests over the Cauvery water sharing dispute. Now, it is decided that the next match of CSK with RCB will be at Eden Gardens. Eliminator and the Qualifier 2 will now be played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. These matches were earlier scheduled at the Maharashtra Cricket Association’s International Stadium, Pune, which is now Chennai Super Kings’ designated home ground. Pune was scheduled to host the two games, but with Chennai Super Kings shifting their base to Pune due to security concerns, Eden Gardens emerged as the frontrunner to host the two playoff games.
