Editing in the GAD
Part 3 in a series of 3 webinars on how the Graphical Analysis Display in Mutation Surveyor software can be used for reviewing and editing project data.
The Graphical Analysis Display (GAD) provides the electropherogram view of sample trace files in alignment with regional locations and a mutation table to show the variant call information in a convenient display. In addition to project review, editing can be performed in the GAD. New variant calls, such as substitutions and homozygous indels, may be added using the Mutation Trace of the Sample Traces Pane and existing variant calls may be edited using the Mutation Table Pane. Variant commenting is enabled through the Edit dialog and also directly through the Mutation Table for ease of access. Editing of base calls in the sample trace files can help correct sequencing errors. Options are provided to then reprocess the data using the edited samples, which can result in an extended region used for automatic variant detection.
