Brigham Young gave Native Americans flour laced with GLASS?!

Описание к видео Brigham Young gave Native Americans flour laced with GLASS?!

Some people claim that Brigham Young instructed Latter-day Saint settlers to give Native Americans sacks of flour that had shards of glass hidden within. Who is making this claim? Where does it come from? And most importantly, is it true?

Notes:

— My guess is that the “Old James Reed” spoken of would be Illa’s great-grandfather, who was an adult at the height of the tension between settlers and native americans. His son (Illa’s grandfather) was born in 1863, and would have been very young during the worst of relations with the settlers.

— Please also note that the Denver Rocky Mountain News does not even claim that the quote in question is even a direct quote from him. It’s represented as an “idea advocated by Brigham Young.” This may be a reference to the well-known Young policy that it was better to feed the natives than to fight them. The only quote I've been able to find where Brigham Young does talk about flour killing Native Americans is quoted in the video. Source: https://tinyurl.com/2t7yntxr
