STORYLINE:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was heckled on Wednesday by bereaved families as he was giving remarks during a Memorial Day ceremony.

"I tell you from the bottom of my heart. We are all always together. We are all part of one big story," Netanyahu said in his address.

Hecklers were heard saying "resign" and "release them", in reference to Israeli hostages held in Gaza, and one was seen escorted out.

Israel marked its Memorial Day for fallen soldiers and victims of attacks beginning at sundown on Tuesday with an official ceremony and smaller events the following day at military cemeteries across the country.

The solemnity is then abruptly interrupted by the fanfare of Independence Day, which begins Wednesday evening.
