Seagate has announced its new 30TB+ heat-assisted magnetic technology (HAMR) drives dubbed Mozaic 3+, which pack an incredible 3TB+ into each platter through taking physics to the extreme.

These drives were an engineering challenge, but what they mean is that data centres, NAS drives, creators, and anyone can now pack 30TB+ into the same 3.5" space as they would for a previous disk drive. Yet, the new disks are not only higher-capacity, they are lighter and have a lower carbon footprint. They not only help organisations of any size with their storage, but also to achieve their sustainability goals.
