Elegy for The Loss of Compassion (2023), in memoriam Blanche Danick (1923-2022)

Описание к видео Elegy for The Loss of Compassion (2023), in memoriam Blanche Danick (1923-2022)

This piece is an "Elegy For The Loss of Compassion" composed by eleven year old composer George Socolow, for his late great grandmother Blanche Danick. She was a holocaust survivor who made it to America, found love and a family and eventually died from COVID 19 last November. George describes this piece as a musical and narrative chronology of her life. George is incredibly grateful that The Knights, composers in residence at camp USDAN, performed this piece as part of their rhapsody project, which explores Gershwin's legacy. Rhapsody in Blue and George's great grandmother would both be 100 this year.
