This sweet is prepared from Kadalai paruppu (Channa Dal) and jaggery is used to provide sweetness to the recipe. The crispy coating on the outside is obtained by using Maida flour and Rice flour. The same recipe made with pasiparuppu is known as Modhagam which is equally popular in the state of Kerala.
