Our biggest overhaul to Champions Elite Football’s gameplay yet is available now! ⬆️

With this update, our aim was to create a faster-paced experience. Version 0.1.4 contains a huge number of changes to the match engine to help us achieve this. In our internal playtests, this has made the matches more exciting than before & we can’t wait to hear what you think of these changes.

Check out the full patch notes below:

ADDED:
Added new tackle animations.
Added the ability to slide tackle.
Added the thumbstick direction to players controlling the ball.
Introduced slow motion sound effects to goal replays.

CHANGED:
Reduced the overall size of the pitch.
Increased the speed of dribbling.
Increased the responsiveness of dribbling controls.
Improved the responsiveness of first time passes and shots.
Improved the responsiveness of tackles.
Rebalanced sprint speed and sprint duration.

FIXED:
Fixed a few visual glitches with match cutscenes.
Fixed all remaining missing translations.
Fixed an issue where an outfield player could be locked in goal.
Fixed a specific pack which would sometimes crash the game.
Fixed a crash during the tutorial.
Plenty of other minor bugfixes.

This update is our first pass at stepping up the tempo of the match gameplay in CEF. The feedback we received indicated that people wanted faster, more end-to-end matches, so we’ve been working on getting that into place. We also have a very special new feature coming in an update soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
