Well, that didn't exactly go according to plan did it? First day on the GDT - though beautiful as it was - ended in disappointment and a cancelled thru hike. But all is not lost. Plan B now in effect!

April and I departed Waterton Lakes National Park and drove to Beaver Mines Lake Campground which can be found in Castle Provincial Park in Alberta.
