Ride-on 2-stage roller/crimper for walk-behind tractors

This patented multi-stage roller/crimper is designed for a walk behind tractors to manage cover crops in small-scale no-till cropping system. The roller/crimper lays down and terminates the cover crops with the smooth drum mounted in front of an adjustable spring-loaded crimping drum. The spring-loaded crimping drum uses spring energy to inflict damage points along the stem of the plants to kill them. The ride-on attachment improves comfort for the operator to increase productivity while improving the effectiveness of the crimper due to the increased total weight of the machine. The design of this roller/crimper is simple enough to be built on the farm to adopt conservation agriculture techniques to reduce tillage and increase soil health.
