In amyloidosis, there is deposition of abnormal, misfolded proteins in a variety of tissues. This could be either due to production of misfolded proteins in normal amounts due to various reasons (i;e :- Gene mutations), or due to the production of normal proteins in excess amounts, where some of them may undergo misfolding.
