Chestnut Laughing Thrush has a confined distribution range in Pakistan (2000-2600m). It lives on damper, well-wooded slopes and gorges of western Himalayas in Pakistan including forests of Azad Kashmir and Galiyat region. It primarily feeds on insects and their larvae, but also consumes wild berries, fruits, and nactar. It is gregarious species, found in groups of 4-20 birds, and can often be seen with Variegated Laughingthrush and Rufous Sibia in its distribution range in Pakistan.
