Fish Creek Scenic Walkway

Apache Trail Highway 88 Has been closed between MM222 - MM229. The dirt road had suffered destruction from the Woodbury Fire and subsequent monsoon rain. That all happened in 2019.

I decided to take a drive up there for a look/see. I knew that the road would be closed, but I wanted to find a way to hike down to the Fish Creek Wash. From there I would hike towards the bridge where most of the repairs were taking place.

Easier said than done. When I got there, I hiked the cement sidewalk scenic trail around the circumference of the Overlook Butte. The sidewalk ended and I hiked a dirt trail the rest of the way.

At the end of this video, I had found a possible route to follow. The next video will provide more detail of a partial descent.
