Developed by Square Enix, Final Fantasy XVI follows Clive Rosfield, the eldest son of the Archduke of Rosaria. Clive is trained to protect his younger brother, Joshua, who is the Dominant of the Phoenix, Eikon of Fire. During a tragic ambush known as the Night of Flames, their kingdom is destroyed, Joshua is seemingly killed, and Clive witnesses another mysterious Eikon of fire emerge. Years later, Clive becomes a soldier enslaved by the Empire of Sanbreque, seeking revenge against the mysterious fire Eikon, whom he believes killed his brother.
