Nepal Earthquake 2023 - Emergency Report

On November 3 2023, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in Jajarkot Discrict in Nepal with its epicenter ad Barekot rural municipality, followed by a 5.8 magnitude aftershock on November 6.
A total of 153 casualties have been confirmed and 17.824 houses in Jajarkot and Rukum West have been fully destroyed.
Following the disastrous earthquake of November 3rd 2023, ASIA identified remote communities close to epicentre where government and international aid was yet to arrive.
We designed shelters with material that could be reused in the construction of permanent houses.

In January ASIA distributed shelter materials to 157 households of Shirpachaur in Barekot Rural Municipality, Jajarkot disctrict, and 213 households of Sanibheri Rural Municipality, Rukum West district

After the distribution phase, ASIA deployed 2 engineers to support and supervise the construction of the shelters. The works were completed in April 2024. Thnaks to our donors.
Currrently, the fundraising campaign goes on and we plan to realize two semi-permanent schools for the children of Barekot Municipality, Jajarkot discrit.
