Southwire’s current wire packaging uses a molded plastic spool inside a corrugated carton, creating
unnecessary material cost, handling complexity, and recycling challenges. Our Fiber-Integrated
Wire Dispensing System replaces the plastic spool with a hexagonal E-flute corrugated mandrel,
transforming the package itself into a structural and dispensing platform. A tear-apart dual-box
design allows the two-wire pack to ship and merchandise as a single unit while enabling contractors
to separate the dispensers at the job site. Integrated window-based dispensing and remaininglength visibility improves usability by allowing controlled wire payout and clear monitoring of
product remaining.

By eliminating the plastic spool, the system removes resin, injection molding, tooling, storage, and
assembly steps, consolidating the package into a single-material corrugated solution that can be
produced on standard die-cutting and gluing lines. This reduces cost, simplifies logistics, and shifts
the entire package into Canada’s highly effective corrugated recycling stream, delivering lower
