Amit Kumar is an Indian Singer, Actor, Producer, and director. He was born on 3 July 1952 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, india. Amit Kumar is a Bengali Brahmin. His father, Kishore Kumar, was an Indian singer and actor. His mother, Ruma Guha Thakurta, was a Bengali actress, and a singer. Actress Leena Chandavarkar is his stepmother. Singer Sumit Kumar and Ayan Guha Thakurta are his step brother. Shramana Guha Thakurta is his Stepsister.

Amit Kumar is married to Reema Ganguly. The couple has two daughters, Vrienda Kumar and Muktika Kumar.

Legendary Actor Ashok Kumar and Anoop Kumar was his uncle and Sati Devi was his Aunt. Actor Deb Mukherjee, Joy Mukherjee, Shomu Mukherjee, Rono Mukherjee, Subbir Mukherjee all are his's cousin.
