Star Wars Battlefront II (PC) HD: Best Mods & Maps: Naboo: Siege Of Theed

WATCH IN HD! Seeing as the original video I put out for this map was at about 5FPS, it's about time I got round to this.
This is Bantha55's Naboo: Siege of Theed, one of the largest maps I have encountered for SWBF2 and a fantastic recreation of the Battle of Theed and the Grassy Plains.
It's an understatement to say this is a big map, it incorporates elements from the original Naboo Plains and Theed maps and extends on them to create a huge coherent environment. Maps of this size often pose a problem when trying to get around, luckily the map addresses this issue by offering a large selection of vehicles for both sides making travel somewhat easier.
As with all of Bantha55's maps, he's thrown the kitchen sink at this map and it offers new units, heroes, weapons and vehicles! The Republic side has been completely retooled to fit the Invasion of Naboo theme, now being comprised of Naboo guards and pilots instead of clone units. The CIS remains relatively intact with the exception of removing the Super Battle Droid and the additions of B1 Pilot and Security Droids. Both sides have some cool new vehicles, the Trade Federation have STAPs, AATs, MTTs and Vulture Droids whilst the Naboo Security Forces have Naboo Starfighters, Flash and Combat Speeders.
As per usual for Bantha55's maps, there are no hero units as they have been replaced with 'ultra' units which require a large number of points to unlock. The Naboo have Qui-Gon Jinn and Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi leading their forces whilst the Trade Federation are commanded by Darth Maul.
On top of this, there is an entire Gungan army acting as an unplayable side that will fight the droid forces out on the Grassy Plains, complete with Fambaas carrying shield generators which will deactivate once they are killed.
When I previously played through this map I found it to be bug-free, however I did experience a few crashes out on the Grassy Plains during this playthrough so be wary of that.
Overall, this is a fantastic recreation of the scene from the movie and plays like a massive open world planet. As with all of Bantha55's work, this is another truly amazing map and I highly recommend you give it a download, enjoy and leave a like or sub!
