A day after returning from the APEC Leaders'' Forum in Vietnam, Taiwan''s envoy James Soong was at the president''s office this morning to present the results of the summit. Although this year he had relatively little interaction with Chinese President Xi Jinping, he did have a brief meeting with Japan''s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who brought up cross-strait relations. The president declared the trip a success for Taiwan. Following the APEC forum, today President Tsai met with Taiwan’s envoy James Soong.
