Описание к видео Most Expensive UK Stamps - Part 7 | 50 Rare British Postage Stamps Worth Collecting

This video is the Part 7 of Most Expensive and Rare Postage Stamps of Great Britain. British Empire has great philatelic history. In 1837 Sir Rowland Hill of Great Britain proposed uniform rates of postage stamps for letters which were sent anywhere in the British Empire. He also suggested about the prepayment by using envelopes with preprinted postage or adhesive labels. The first ever postage stamp in United Kingdom was sold in May 1840. The stamp that later became known as the Penny Black covered the one penny charge for 1/2 ounce letter. While another stamp Two Penny Blue covered the two charge for 1 ounce letter. The Penny Black stamp went on sale first so it is widely considered to be the world's first postage stamp.
In my video I have discussed 50 beautiful pieces of Great Britain philately. I have. highlighted their features such as year, color, gum, hinging, margins, and center etc. In some places I have also given the total number of those rare stamps ever printed or in existence. In my video the values mentioned are only for the stamp shown adjacent to description.
