This guide to 48 hours in Sri Lanka's "cool climate" city should help plan your trip - from the pretty little town and cute post office, to Pedro Tea Estate, St Clair Major Falls, Bomburu Ella Waterfall and some cute places to eat and stay.

We LOVED our 2 days in Nuwara Eliya and particularly enjoyed the much cooler weather and crisp, sunny days. This place should be on everyone's Sri Lanka bucket list but in seems many skip to go straight to Ella.

We also loved the drive here from Hatton, and the onwards drive through the hills and tea plantations en route to Ella. A beautiful part of Sri Lanka!
