2003 RetroSkins Highlights: Washington Redskins vs Atlanta Falcons

Описание к видео 2003 RetroSkins Highlights: Washington Redskins vs Atlanta Falcons

We go back to 2003 for the last-ever Redskins** win over the Atlanta Falcons, from the then-named Georgia Dome in week 2 of the ill-fated ’03 season. Both teams were 1-0 and the Falcons sure looked headed for 2-0, bouncing out to a 17-0 2nd quarter lead in front of a roaring Falcons fanbase before this game turned in a hot second the Redskins’ way. Washington ripped off a 33-7 run to take control of this one, with turnovers and solid defense leading the way. Likeably lackluster Patrick Ramsey, alongside Laverneus Coles, Trung Candidate, John Hall and a bunch of other long-forgotten Redskins, had a better-than-usual outing to lead the ‘Skins back for what would be a rare win for the former first rounder.

It wasn’t pretty from here in 2003, so let’s live in the moment, enjoy the Redskins’ rare 2-0 start, and not Wikipedia the rest of the ’03 results (don’t say you weren’t warned).

Dick Stockton (always a pleasure) and Darryl Jonston on the call from Atlanta on this picture-perfect fall day that no one enjoyed, being cooped up inside a stupid domed stadium.

(** Last ever “Redskins” win meaning just that. Washington didn’t win again vs Atlanta until the Redskins honorific was retired. The post-Redskins teams are current 3-0 vs the Falcons, and will them play again in ’24).
