BE ADVISED: Long Beach Animal Care Services has exceeded capacity for large breed dogs due to severe increase in unredeemed found animals and owner surrenders entering into the shelters care. 4th of July is fast approaching and the shelter will need to make room for the large volume of stray animals that arrive this time of year, if we head into Independence Day without the appropriate amount of space we will have to make difficult decisions on some of the owner surrenders and 'special needs' dogs currently in our care 🙁

We are also in desperate need of temporary or permanent crisis fosters to assist with our capacity concerns, as well as adding a new four-legged friend to your home through adoption. If you are interested in adopting a new friend into your home or helping a homeless pet by allowing it to crash at your place as a foster please visit the shelter Wednesday through Sunday from 11AM - 3PM.
