NITI DAUN GAWAI PARADE 2024 达雅节大游行 🟡🔴⚫ [4K] | A showcase of Sarawak's rich indigenous heritage 🇲🇾

The renowned ‘NITI DAUN’ (Gawai Dayak Cultural Parade) is back in 2024.
Niti Daun or the Gawai Dayak Parade is a annual procession or parade by Dayak people of Sarawak.
This usually involves the Ibans, Bidayuhs, Kayans, Bisaya, Kenyah, Kelabit and Orang Ulu tribes.
As time passes, the parade has seen participation from government agencies, the private sectors, as well as neighbouring ethnic groups such as the Kadazan's and Dusuns.

The first Niti Daun Gawai Parade was held in 1994, followed by 2018, with the recent one happening last year, in 2023.
This year, on 15 June 2024, an estimated 3400 participants, consisting of 100 contingents and 13 floats (decorated vehicles) showed up in this massive yet colourful parade, with the aim to showcase Sarawak's rich indigenous culture, heritage and harmony.
Traditional music will also be played as traditional dances are also done as the parade moves.

Start : Tun Jugah Mall
End : Kuching Waterfront
Time : 2pm to 5pm

Towards the end of the parade, there was a sudden downpour which caught every participants by surprise.
Despite that, everyone was in high spirit to continue and marched towards Kuching Waterfront to highlight Sarawak and Borneo rich ‘ethnic existence’ to the world.
