August 5, 2019 marked a turning point in the history of Indian-occupied Jammu & Kashmir. On this day, the Indian government unilaterally revoked Article 370 and 35A, stripping the region of its special constitutional status — a move widely condemned by international observers and human rights groups.

Today, six years later, Kashmir remains one of the most militarized zones on Earth, with over 800,000 troops deployed, 21,000+ Kashmiris imprisoned, and over 1,100 properties burned. The forced demographic shift continues under the guise of new domicile laws, with over 5 million non-Kashmiris granted residency, and Muslim-majority constituencies being deliberately weakened.

The revocation of Articles 370 and 35A not only violates India’s own constitution and its commitments to the UN but also breaches the Geneva Convention (Article 49), which prohibits demographic engineering in occupied territories.
