The Agronomists’ Induction is aimed at early career agronomists or students studying agronomy. Ordinarily it is a two day conference introducing delegates to AHDB staff and services.

Due to ongoing government restrictions, the event will take place online this year. It will consist of a series of webinars delivered in the morning, as part of Agronomy Week 2020.

We are asking delegates to register by 1 October for this years’ event for access to exclusive content covering important issues in agronomy. This will be sent by email.

In the New Year, subject to restrictions, the Agronomists’ Induction will finish with a study trip to AHDB Head Office to meet the Research and Knowledge Exchange Teams, as well as an opportunity to visit our Strategic Farm hosts to learn more about how they are putting research into practice on farm.

Programme:
• How to use the Recommended List (Monday 30th November)
• IPM (Integrated Pest Management) for Sustainable Farming Systems ( (Tuesday 1st December)
• New technologies and approaches in potato production (Wed 2 December)
• Thursday 3rd December webinar TBC
• How to measure the impact of soil management practices using a soil health scorecard (Friday 4th December)

What is Agronomy Week?
• Agronomy Week is a week-long series of webinars aimed at agronomists. Delegates will hear updates on the latest AHDB-funded research in arable farming, covering cereals, oilseeds and potatoes. It runs from Monday 30th November to Friday 4th December.

Once registered for the Agronomists’ Induction, you will be able to join us for Agronomy Week as well. Delegates will be able to:

• Register for a series of webinars taking place during Agronomy Week
• Set up a profile on Cvent, an easy-to-use virtual event platform, to network with delegates, speakers, AHDB research managers and exhibitors throughout the week
