In this video, Jim Gruber, Site Supervisor at T.G. Basile, shares progress from Hamilton, New Jersey, where we’re building a Valvoline oil change facility. The work began with site preparation, footing installation, forming 9-foot foundation walls, and placing reinforcement steel to support long-term structural performance.

Project Highlights
Foundation Wall Prep + Reinforcement
From footings to rebar placement, each step is measured and controlled to ensure the walls perform as designed once the building is in service.
Concrete Placement (65 Yards Total)
This pour includes 7 concrete trucks delivering 65 yards. Using a boom pump, we place concrete into the wall forms and use a concrete vibrator to consolidate the mix and eliminate voids.
Cold Weather Protection + Curing
After the pour, the work is covered with curing blankets to protect the concrete from winter weather and support proper strength development.

Even with snow and delays, the project stays on track. In 3–5 days, forms will be stripped and the next phase can begin.
