1.How is the electrode placement verified in this study for cochlear implants?
2.What did our multicenter study reveal regarding cochlear implant placement and performance?
3.Does consistent placement of the cochlear implant electrode lead to improved performance?

He examines 3D reconstructions of CT scans to visualize where the electrode landed relative to the modiolus to explore these questions. Dr. McJunkin also discusses angle of insertion, wrapping factor, scala tympani placement and number of contact points.

The CI532 Clinical Study demonstrates that there was consistent placement of the CI532 in the scala tympani, close to the modiolus and the clinical outcomes support that consistency with placement of the CI532 may lead to better performance outcomes.
