Join me today as I walk around the Old Quarter neighborhood in Hanoi, Vietnam. The Old Quarter in Hanoi, Vietnam, is one of the most iconic and historically rich areas of the city.

The Old Quarter dates back over a thousand years, originally forming as a hub of commerce. Each of the 36 streets in the quarter was historically associated with a specific type of trade or craft, such as silversmithing, textiles, or herbal medicine. Many of the streets are still named after the goods that were sold there.

The area also showcases a blend of Vietnamese and French colonial architecture. The narrow streets are lined with old tube houses, which are narrow and long to avoid high taxes on property that was measured by street frontage during the French colonial period.

This area is packed with bustling markets, street food vendors, shops, restaurants, etc.

I will continue exploring Hanoi daily while I'm here, so if you would like to see more videos like this one be sure to subscribe to the channel!

Photos are shot on the Ricoh GR III. Thank you for watching!

Peace.
