Airborne - Kit by Light Solution for Advanced Composites

To further increase the efficiency of cutting room operations, Airborne has launched a new product in their expanding portfolio of automated kitting solutions: Kit by Light. This system eliminates any kitting errors, increases the output and drastically reduces the space in the cleanroom.

The operator is assisted by light to indicate which plies to pick. The automated Airborne buffer then presents the required tray so that the operator sorts the plies directly to the right kit. This is all digitally managed by the Airborne software that synchronises the cutter, label printer, light and buffer. The nesting and kit information is all that is needed to set the system up.

This system can be installed as an add-on to existing cutters to fully support the work of the operator and make his or her life easy. It can also be used as a stepping stone to introduce automation and digitalisation in the cutting room, to later expand it into a fully Automated Kitting system by adding a robot system with Airborne's Automated Ply Placement technology.
