Vikings in Wales! A Saint David's Day Special

Описание к видео Vikings in Wales! A Saint David's Day Special

Happy Saint David's Day!

It's well known there was a Viking city in Dublin and Viking raiders attacked Ireland. There was a huge Viking city in York (or Jorvik). England was torn in two by the Danelaw, and of course there was the seat of a Norse kingdom on the Isle of Man. But were there Vikings in Wales? Place names like Swansea, Fishguard, and even Anglesey give us clues about the secret Viking history of Wales, but there's much more to talk about!

Let's look at the Viking archaeology and history of Wales, and see what the exciting finds we have tell us about Welsh-Viking relations!

Maybe I'll even teach you a couple of Welsh words, who knows? ;)
