Virtua Fighter 3 1996 Tech Demo (Restored)

Описание к видео Virtua Fighter 3 1996 Tech Demo (Restored)

This astonishing tech demo dropped at the AOU (Arcade Operators Union Amusement Expo) in 1996 and jaws around the world promptly hit the floor.

The real time 3D graphics were far, far ahead of any consumer-oriented product in the world at the time. This trailer is kind of special to me as I remember magazines at the time posting screenshots of it and being absolutely amazed at how rich and realistic it looked compared to the home console/PC or even arcade games of that era.

I have tried my best to restore this trailer. Please remember that the original quality of this clip was extremely low (and really old). I have adjusted contrast/white balance etc, increased the frame rate to 60fps (the original game ran at 60), and have reconstructed the image using AI algorithms. The image is still very soft - if I pushed any harder with the reconstruction, I got really bizarre, ugly looking watercolour-esque artifacts. In fairness, the original game had a soft presentation, employing a relatively low resolution and a very early form of antialiasing.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.
