the thoughts :

I spent a lot of time thinking about the elements in this track, i guess a lot of my thoughts didn't translate perfectly to the video so here are some extras

there's a lot a lot going on with the kicks and snare and hat sounds; sometimes they get kill commands incredibly early or are truncated by other sounds, and other times they are given space to ring out. This is a great strategy for creating variety with a limited palette of sounds, as well as a dynamically pleasing mix.

heavy use of the delay and reverb tails shows how powerful the effects are without being overpowering - with the use of FX commands the reverb and delay are used to their full potential, as instruments all on their own accord :O

the fact that Ess shared this file really rings true in the "tracker spirit" if you will, and while the discord is poppin' off with track sharing and has been since day one, this was the first one i downloaded and was floored by, which encouraged me to take another look, and there's tons to learn from the community. this is a great reminder of that !

The FM synth in the M8 is bozo bonkers.
