📘 February/March 2025 Paper 22 | Scenario-Based Question Walkthrough

Hey everyone, Rahim Shahi here! 👋 I hope you're all doing well and enjoying your learning journey. In this video, I walk you through a detailed solution to a scenario-based question from the Feb/March 2025 IGCSE Paper 22—the one many of you were eagerly waiting for!

We explore how to approach this question step-by-step and break down:

Assessment Objective 2: How to score up to 9 marks by using correct selection statements, data structures, validation, and more.
Assessment Objective 3: How to get 5–6 marks by writing clean, logical, and well-commented code.
Programming Requirements: Creating a menu-driven program using a 1D and 2D array to store member IDs and names, validating inputs, checking for unique membership codes, and displaying the member list.

I explain how to:
✅ Display and validate menu choices
✅ Input a 6-character alphanumeric code and ensure uniqueness using *linear search*
✅ Store first and last names in corresponding 2D arrays
✅ Output all stored member details
✅ Use proper pseudo code, validation techniques, and required variable names

This walkthrough is perfect if you're aiming to *score high* and need clarity on how to structure your answers. Whether you're a student revising or a teacher guiding others, this video will help reinforce key exam techniques.

🎥 In this video, I walk you through how to manage and store member details efficiently using arrays. We’ve added an important enhancement—each member now has a unique ID stored in a memberID array, where the index holds the corresponding ID. This key addition ensures our data stays well-organized and avoids duplication.

💡 What’s covered:

How to add new member information
Storing details across multiple arrays (ID, first name, last name, etc.)
Using checks to prevent duplicate entries
Displaying all member data with a simple loop
Understanding how menu choices control input, output, and exit

I also demonstrate how to use a loop to keep the program running until the user chooses to exit (choice = 3). Everything is kept straightforward and practical, so you can easily adapt this for your own projects or exams.

✅ Don't forget to include this critical line in your solution:
memberID\[index] = newID
