These are the top 15 countries by average annual working hours per worker. They are shown in descending order from the most working hours (top), to the least amount of working hours (bottom). The measurement is based on annual hours of full-time production workers (both male and female) in non-agricultural activities. Annual hours are based on estimates of weekly working hours and weeks worked. The data was collected by various sources, including labor force surveys and establishment surveys.
Work is a central part of our lives and continues to be so for decades. If we look at the amount of time we work, it can indicate the quality of living. Compared to the last 150 years, people in most countries work less hours in today's day and age. Working more hours can be more productive and can earn us more money. However, working less hours can increase time spend with friends and family, time spend on education, leisure time, and can decrease stress. The key is to find a good work/life balance.
