Recording of our panel discussion (Q&A not recorded for privacy reasons) in June 2023 held to mark the publication of E.L. Norry’s book Fablehouse, which is inspired by the history of the ‘Brown Babies’ of WW2 that features significantly at The Mixed Museum.

Around 60 people attended the panel discussion at The Foundling Museum in London, held in partnership between the two museums, Bloomsbury Children’s Books, and Anglia Ruskin University.

Chaired by Dr Chamion Caballero, Director of The Mixed Museum, the discussion featured Fablehouse author E. L. (Emma) Norry, historian and author of Britain’s Brown Babies, Professor Lucy Bland, and Ann Evans, an original resident of Holnicote House, a former National Trust property that became home to mixed race children of Black GIs and white British women who were placed in care in Somerset during WW2.
