After Hijab row, another controversy erupted in Karnataka, workers of a right-wing group have asked Hindu vendors to not buy halal meat. The move comes just ahead of Ugadi, the Hindu New Year festival. A day after Ugadi, a section of non-vegetarian Hindus offer meat to God and celebrate the New Year.


Posters put by the Bajrang Dal at Nelamangala advised Hindu vendors to boycott shops which have halal sign in front of them.

“Ban halal meat,” the poster says in huge letters.
