My friends, who’s ready for a third tour at the North Carolina Zoo? Our third adventure showcases the Desert. When it opened in 1993, this exhibit was dedicated to the Sonoran Desert, but nowadays, is dedicated to deserts around the world. It’s a walkthrough aviary, a reptile house and nocturnal house all in one! We’ll learn how sand cats in Arabia hunt for food, why vampire bats don’t deserve such a bad reputation and how the gila monster and blue tongued defend themselves. There’s also speedy roadrunners, a salty kookaburra, and even TOADS! Enjoy! Feel free to give me any constructive feedback.
