Описание к видео "Slow Mohs" on the nose.

In this case we have a 61 year old man with a biopsy proven basal cell carcinoma on his nose. As the lesion is on the nose of a younger patients, and because the lesion is ill defined, we will treat this in a staged procedure otherwise known as "Slow Mohs".

This involves excising the lesion and bandaging the defect. The patient is seen again 2 days later after the histopathology results are at hand. At this stage more skin may be excised if necessary and the wound can be repaired.

Mohs surgery is performed in a single day as the specimen is processed using frozen section and the histopathology results are available much more quickly.
