Behringer/ARP 2500 (n° 37) - Sequencer with a sample & hold

Описание к видео Behringer/ARP 2500 (n° 37) - Sequencer with a sample & hold

In this short video i try to illustrate two things :
i) plugging the output of a sequencer into a sample and hold, so that the pitch produced is kept for several consecutive steps (i'll do other videos to give other examples of that idea),
ii) how to get random tones by using a s&h and a ring modulator (input A of the ring mod is the audio signal, input B is a signal containing a square wave, and the s&h changes its pulse width) or by using a s&h and a 1005 in « unmod » mode to randomly modulate the amount of fm sent into the oscillator producing the audio signal.
I'm increasing the maximum (the s&h chooses a random proportion of this value) amount of FM during the first half of the video, and at 1:22 you can hear that the oscillator starts to be out of tune.

I've used the first notes that came to my mind : the first three notes of the high voice and the first three notes of the bass line come from « POV » by Ariana Grande (do not ask me why : i don't even know myself). Btw : in the song, the bass line is played on a MiniMoog Voyager.

Recorded on the 3rd of april 2023. Patch performed live in one take. No overdubs, no post processing.
