Some of you may remember the MOTU 2408, one interface that stood out head and shoulders above the rest, offering 16-channels of pristine analogue audio also catering for ADAT and TDIF. This PCI device enabled the connection of pretty much any digital console direct to any computer based DAW and also led to the development of a range of premium PCI-based audio interfaces from MOTU.

MOTU 1248 is a 48-Channel Thunderbolt/USB Hybrid featuring 4 mic preamps, 8 analog inputs, 8 analog outputs plus 16-ADAT inputs and 16-ADAT outputs.

MOTU 8M offers 48-channels featuring 8 mic preamps, 8 analog inputs, 8 analog outputs plus 16-ADAT inputs and 16-ADAT outputs.

MOTU 16A features 64-channels, 16 analog inputs, 16 analog outputs plus 16-ADAT inputs and 16-ADAT outputs.

MOTU have also incorporated audio networking for system expansion into this new range. For example, a 2nd interface can be added with a simple Ethernet cable or with the optional five-port MOTU AVB Switch. An expanded system of 3 to 5 interfaces with AVB audio networking (or 6+ with additional switches) becomes possible.
