In this episode, we taste a Cune Rioja Reserva available at the time of filming for £13.50.

This wine is produced by the fifth-generation founders of the CVNE vineyard in the westernmost region of Rioja in Spain.
The wines storage instructions suggest it can be kept for 2 years, having spent 18 months in a mixture of French and American oak barrels and then spending 12 months bottled before being released onto the market.

The colour is slightly purple in colour, and, on the nose, it smells like a Rioja should although perhaps a little too faint.

On the palate, the wine feels a little too "watery" and taste-wise the taste is like watered-down Rioja. The taste you are left with is very tannic.

So the smell, in our opinion, is spot-on, but unfortunately the taste is very disappointing especially considering the price tag of £13:50.

The taste was so weak John L had difficulty in pairing this wine with food!

We were so disappointed that we scored this wine the lowest score we have ever given.
