This video shows how I fixed my Sega CD model 2. I bought it off Facebook marketplace and it made some pretty gnarly grinding noises. Shortly thereafter it stopped reading discs. I tried spraying contact cleaner into the switch and bending the switch into place, but neither of those fixes worked--so I desoldered the switch and gave it a really deep clean (by dunking it in contact cleaner, then IPA). Good as new!
