In this video virtual short concept and virtual ground concept is explained. These are extensively used in op-amp as an amplifier.

For an ideal Op-amp-since the input resistance is infinite, there is no current flow into either of the input terminals. As there is no current through either of the input terminal, the current through Ri is zero.

The meaning of ordinary ground is that it has Zero voltage & can sink infinite current.
The term virtual ground means any point in the circuit that has a Zero voltage and draw no current. For Voltage there is no difference between ordinary ground & virtual ground but for current, ordinary ground sinks infinite current whereas virtual ground sinks Zero current. It is called virtual because it acts as ground for voltage & not for current.
