The revelation of “Durood Shareef”, i.e., its existence, dates back to the time of Prophet Muhammadﷺ. During his lifetime, The Messenger of Islam taught his friends to teach “Durood Sharif” in addition to “Salam“.

After this, the meaning of “Darood Sharif” spread among the Sahabas of The Messenger of Islam. Even today Muslims use the word “Darood Sharif” with the name of The Messenger of Islam. Muslims recite Darood Sharif dua to praise and respect the Prophetﷺ and pray for pure peace.
