Our farmers traditionally grow crops which are laborious, time consuming and expensive. The Center Pivot system is a high efficiency irrigation system which acts like rain. It is water saving technology which saves labour, land, time as well. Fertilizers are also given by this watering system which is observed highly efficiently or we can say, this system increases the fertilizer use efficiency as nutrients fall on leaves that absorb water and nutrients through stomata.
Central Pivot system is also known as linear irrigation system. It is an aspect of innovative farming in South Punjab area or Chlolistan Bahawalpur area. We need sustainable agriculture in which water saving technology is on top priority. We can cultivate so many crops like mustard, wheat, canola, peas, pulses, soybean etc by this irrigation system successfully in sandy soils like deserts in Pakistan.
