Here's something I've been meaning to get round to starting for ages, a practical guide to FM synthesis. In my experience FM tutorials usually over explain all the wrong things and rarely get as far as the important things like which setting will make usable sounds.

This episode covers how rate and level scaling work as well as velocity sensitivity to volume and tone. It also shows the oddness that is the Yamaha FB-01

Once again, just for those who read all this stuff, this tutorial series hasn't exactly been a runaway success so far 😅 Each episode seems to get less views than the last, but I feel I must get through everything I have to talk about. We're about to get into more advanced techniques so hopefully things will perk up after this one! At least it's been an excuse to buy stuff 😁 The FB-01 is cool if a little quirky, I did have DX21 turn up I was planning to demo but that one was faulty, so something else is on it's way but I don't want to jinx it, so fingers crossed that's working 🤞
