How Are Energy Alternatives Evolving?

As societies move toward cleaner energy alternatives, hydrogen is an appealing option. Julia Thayne, senior principal at nonprofit energy decarbonizer RMI, Jawaad Malik, chief strategy and sustainability officer at SoCalGas, and Arnaud Namer (CERT ’16), COO at Universal Hydrogen, discussed how their companies are tackling the transition. “It’s an environment that’s thrilling to be in because people want to make it happen,” said [Name].

In conversation with UCLA Anderson MBA student Cameron Eibl (’24), the panelists explored the possibilities and challenges that come along with it. To the MBA students in the audience, [Name] said, “There are so many ways in which people are going to be able to find jobs in climate. It is a hugely important sector, and so is hydrogen. So you can be an engineer, yes, but you can also specialize in policy, finance, technology, community engagement — and each of those things mean 100 different things.”
