Roots of a quadratic equation are determined by the following formula:
To calculate the roots −
• Calculate the determinant value (b*b)-(4*a*c).
Case-1:- If determinant is greater than 0 roots are real and unequal
root1= [-b +squareroot(determinant)]/2*a and
root2= [-b -squareroot(determinant)]/2*a.
Case-2:- If determinant is equal to 0 root are real and equal is
root1=root2=-b/(2*a)
Case-3:- If determinant is less than 0 roots are imaginary
root1=-b+i*squareroot(determinant)]/2*a.
root2=-b-i*squareroot(determinant)]/2*a.
