With Surround Sound, including Dolby Atmos, I think it's helpful to understand best practices. But realize that most rooms won't lend themselves to best practices for surround.

So you take the best practices and apply them the best you can. Where it doesn't quite work, do the best you can and you'll still really enjoy the Surround Sound experience.

In this video, we look at some of the basic rules of thumb, like having front speakers at ear level, and placement of both surrounds and atmos speakers.

We then give you a few examples of rooms that weren't perfect, but where we still installed a full system. For example, we had one Home Media Room, where we installed a full 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos surround system, but all surround and atmos speakers were in-ceiling.

It wasn't a perfect execution, but it still created a fantastic listening experience for our client.
